Evening of the Cooperative Rabobank Amsterdam

Last week on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, I attended the “Evening of the cooperative” at the Music Gebouw aan 't IJ in Amsterdam. The program started at 19.30 hrs. I was just in time and rushed into the great hall 1. I saw that the program had just started. A young entrepreneur Danny Mekic was the host for the evening.
Looking back to a successful Economic Trade Mission to Turkey

The Economic Trade Mission from 20 until March 25, 2011 by IT Business Bridge was organized in collaboration with EVD, it was a great success. The trade mission program was to visit Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir. The purpose of this mission was to link Dutch companies to Turkish companies and governments. I joined the trade mission as the chairman of IT BusinessBridge. Secretary Hans Bleker joined also the trade mission. He had to leave on Tuesday morning back to the Netherlands.
The highest building in Europe is in Istanbul

The global crisis did not affect buyers of the building. Even the Global crisis 4 apartments have already been sold for 7.5 million dollars. The last weeks I was very busy. Not only ill but also had to clear my head. Therefore I couldn’t find the “time” to write any blog articles. I hope for your understanding.
As an entrepreneur the biggest challenge is to have the motivation to achieve your (personal) goals.
The Road to Success

Last week I visited the TNT Express Entrepreneurs Event in DeFabrique in Utrecht. Chairman of the day was Jort Kelder; Keynote speakers were Remco Claassen and Rene C.W. Boender. Every week there is an event you can visit. That means that you must be selective in choosing the event you want to visit. The Entrepreneurs event in Utrecht I visited especially to meet and speak Jort Kelder. I got a fan of him, after I saw him in a talk show with Pieter Storms (The Gold digger). In that show Jort Kelder had a super performance. An another reason for me to visit this event was to meet people who do international trading. I'm the Chairman of the itBusinessBridge Foundation. In March we have a IT trade mission planned to Turkey.
War in the Tablet PC market has started

Tablet PCs has already claimed to be the star of 2010 can say. Starting with Apple, HP / Microsoft, Samsung, RIM / BlackBerry, Dell, like other world-famous names have been added. Each tablet individually arouses curiosity. What new features will provide us all wonder frankly. Tablet growth will come at the expense of Netbooks, which have a similar grab-and-go media consumption and Web browsing use case as tablets but don't synchronize data across services like the iPad does.
What changed in 2011?

At first site there is not much changed in 2011. This morning the coffee machine gave the same undrinkable coffee. The metro in Amsterdam was late and very crowded. I went to the same desk where I left the Friday to celebrate the New Year. I joked with a Spanish collegeau that the only change in the New Year are the increase of the prizes and taxes. This is only to keep us “alert”
Of course there are more changes for 2011. Most people don’t realise but some changes have more impact than thought. We have to realize that the social system is now not any more affordable. Some fundamental changes must be taken. My opinion the fundaments of the social in the Netherlands are no more a guarantee. According to me these fundaments are:
Crisis & Entrepreneurship part II

Last week I wrote the first part of the crisis and entrepreneurship. That became an article more about personnel and entrepreneurship. This week the focus will be about “how to survive a (financial) crisis if you are an entrepreneur. In this article I will give my opinion about this topic. In a crisis the entrepreneurs and companies are forced to be more creative.
In economic positive periods it is easy for companies to find new clients. Because consumers are not saving their money but spending it, the sales are automatically made. In crisis periods entrepreneurs can’t find new clients but they loose also their existing clients. The questions are how can entrepreneurs turn the crisis into changes and opportunities.
